KAMAL HAASAN’S TAKE ON THE KERALA STORY

While interacting to media he said, “I am against propaganda films”
Superstar Kamal Haasan has shared his take on The Kerala Story controversy. The film, helmed by Sudipto Sen, released on May 5, 2023 is doing well at the box-office windows, specially in BJP ruling states.

The Kerala Story was in controversy before it’s release, it’s trailer created havoc.
However the makers did the suggested corrections in the old trailer and later broadcasted a new trailer.

After the release, the movie was even banned in some Indian states. However, the project, performed well at the box office.

In between all the arguments, debates, media trials, controversies the film recieved open support by few Politicians.

Many celebrities presented their opinions regarding the film. Now the Vetran Superstar Kamal Haasan has reacted to the controversy surrounding The Kerala Story.

While talking to the media Kamal Haasan shared his take on the matter, he openly said, ” We are creative people in the Film Industry, we should avoid propoganda, I am strictly against this newly developed culture amongst the Filmmakers to gain publicity by making propoganda films and this discriminates citizens. We Indians are known for our rich culture, we are known for our Unity in diversity, let it prevail.”

I would like to mention here that three big companies of theatre chains in UK didn’t release The Kerala Story as they didn’t want to displease their Muslim citizens of UK.
