When Feroz Khan, the legend brutally criticized Pakistan in Pakistan

The most flamboyant and stylish icon of the Indian Film Industry Feroz Khan, the legend film star was said to be a difficult actor to work with as he was a straight forward person who believes to speak truth. Apart from being an accompalished actor, Feroz Khan was the most stylish star and filmmaker of his time. His iconic classics like Apradh, Dharmatma, Qurbani and Jaanbaaz, among others, are a proof of it. His movies still looks new. Feroz Khan gave many new technologies to the Indian Film Industry. After directed Sanjay Dutt starrer Yalgaar in 1992, Feroz Khan cut down on acting job substantially and only helmed his son Fardeen Khan’s debut movie Prem Aggan. Post 2000, he directed Fardeen again in Janasheen besides co-starring in it. He was also seen in the 2005 thriller Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. However, post the early 90s, it was his turn as RDX in cult classic Welcome that released in 2007, which he is most remembered for by the current generation.
Not many know but a year before stealing the show with Welcome, Feroz Khan landed in a major controversy in the neighbouring country. It so happened that, he had gone to Pakistan for the premiere of his younger brother Akbar Khan’s magnum opus Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story. He was accompanied by brother Akbar Khan, son Fardeen Khan, Mahesh Bhatt, Shatrughan Sinha and the cast of Taj Mahal which included Manisha Koirala.
During an event in Lahore that was attended by thousands of Pakistani audience, host Fakhr-E-Alam reportedly made a remark on Manisha Koirala that made the actress uncomfortable. Coming in support of Manisha, Khan reportedly went on a rant against the entire nation while praising his home country India. Feroz khan said, ”
India is a secular country. Muslims there are making a lot of progress. Our President is a Muslim, the PM a Sikh. Pakistan was made in the name of Islam, but look how Muslims are killing each other.”
While talking about his visit to Pakistan, Feroz Khan then added, ” I didn’t want to come to the country but had to..”
He further spoke,
” I have not come here on my own. I was invited to come. Our films are so powerful that your government could not stop them for long.”
Feroz Khan brutally torchored the Pakistani audience by criticising Pakistan on their soil.
Later, Feroz Khan was banned to enter in Pakistan by the Government of Pakistan, then he said, ” Who cares ?”
