Remembering Two legends Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna on their death anniversary

Whether you believe in spritual connection or not, the fact that late legendary stars and best friends Vinod Khanna and Feroz Khan died on the same date, eight years apart, is something that will stun you for a few seconds for sure. Not just this, the two Hindi film industry icons were almost of the same age at the time of their demise and suffered from the same disease– cancer.
Although Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna together acted in three films only but they were best friends. There friendship was talk of the tinsel town. Feroz Khan and
Vinod Khanna acted together in Shankar Shambhu for the first time, Feroz Khan essayed the role of Shankar and Vinod Khanna played the Character of Shambhu.
Shankar Shambhu
is an action-packed film starring Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna in the lead, screenplay revolves around two petty dacoits, Shankar and Shambhu, who become vigilantes to fight against corruption and injustice in their society. The film was a blockbuster hit at the box office as it was filled with powerful performances of both the handsome stars, Film has thrilling action scenes and catchy music. Shankar Shambhu is a classic example of the incredible on-screen partnership between Khan and Khanna. While shooting for Shankar Shambhu Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna became friends as there were many similarities amongst them. Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna were spotted together with their girlfriends in parties and events. When Feroz Khan planned Qurbani, he considered Amitabh Bachchan with himself as Amitabh Bachchan said to Feroz Khan that “We should do a film together” So Feroz Khan thought to cast him, but when everything got ready and the film was to go on floor Amitabh Bachchan had some problem with the dates as he was committed to some other film, Feroz Khan wasn’t in mood to postponed the date as all the other actors were locked, so Feroz Khan offered the film to Vinod Khanna. Qurbani is about two friends, Rajesh and Amar, who get embroiled in a dangerous criminal underworld after a series of unfortunate events. The film was a blockbuster hit, it broke all the existing records at the box office, known for its chart-topping music, especially Aap Jaisa Koi and high-octane action sequences. Feroz Khan’s stylish direction and the triangular sizzling chemistry between Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna and Zeenat Aman make Qurbani a timeless classic and a must watch for all. Qurbani gave many new technologies to the Indian Film Industry.
Vinod Khanna suddenly became the number one Hero leaving Amitabh Bachchan behind. Feroz Khan was offered Solo roles and some co-starring Vinod Khanna by all the top banners including B.R Chopra, Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai and other biggies but he didn’t accept their offers as he was determined to do films of his home production only.
Vinod Khanna also didn’t accept any offer, all of sudden he left the film Industry and became the desciple of Osho. Feroz Khan felt bad.
After a long gap Feroz Khan planned to make Dayawan for himself but later he thought to cast Vinod Khanna. He somehow contacted Vinod Khanna and convinced him for the film.
Vinod Khanna came back to Mumbai and started doing films like Satmevjayate.
Feroz Khan started to shoot Dayawan but with a sacrifice, the role which was tailored for him he gave it to his friend Vinod Khanna and he himself acted in a supporting role this was the same Feroz Khan who fought for his role in Mela with his brother Sanjay Khan. The Film revolves around a young boy who takes to a life of crime and grows up to be a criminal with a conscience. The enemies he makes along the way target his family in order to destroy him.Dayawan gave Vinod Khanna a new image, the movie became a landmark for Vinod Khanna and Feroz Khan fans weren’t happy watching Feroz Khan in a supporting role.
