‘LOHARDAGA’ REVIEW

By
KOMAL NAHTA

Rose Quartz Entertainment and Akriti Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’s Lohardaga (UA) is the story of a young man who is trapped into becoming a Naxalite. A young patriot at heart dreams of joining the army. But he is tricked into becoming a Naxalite.

Lal Vijay Shahdeo and Birendra Paswan have written a story and screenplay, both of which move on predictable paths. Consequently, nothing really engages the viewers. Why, even the dialogues are routine.

Sanjay Mishra performs ably. Vijay Raaz is okay. Akhilendra Mishra does a fair job. Raquib Arshad is alright. Hansraj Jagtap lends reasonable support. Neetu Pandey, Dadhi Pandey, Sushila Lakra, Ravi Jhankal, Rishi Thakur, Ratnakar Mavilach, Nisha Lakra, Alisha Tigga, Kaajal Kunder, Sarvadaman, Priya Ambast, Chanda Kumari, Shravani Desai, Vishal Shahdeo, Shailendra Sharma, and the rest provide routine support.

Lal Vijay Shahdeo’s direction is average. Siddhant Madhav and Nandlal Nayak’s music is dull. Lyrics (Madhu Mansuri Hasmukh and Arafat Mehmood) are commonplace. Ashish Rego’s background music is dull. Ajit Singh’s camerawork is alright. Editing (Rakesh Solanki and Pradeep Sahu) ought to have been sharper.

On the whole, Lohardaga is a disaster.

Released on 10-3-’23 at Carnival Oshiwara (daily 1 show) and another cinema of Bombay thru Studiograph Infocom OPC Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over.
