Flops are not happening for the first time in my career

Superstar Akshay Kumar has recently interacted with the journalists and he spoke about the bend in his career, he starts with a smile and pronounced, ” It’s just a bend and not the end of my career.”
The disastrous box-office performance of his film ‘Selfiee’ has shocked the trade as Akshay is considered as one of the biggest stars of the Indian Film Industry. Selfiee isn’t such a bad film, previews were also not bad but the film bombed at the box-office. The film has not been able to draw audiences to the cinemas. But where were the fans, followers, well wishers of Akshay Kumar? Although film making is a team work but Akshay Kumar took the responsibility of the failure of his movies, He confess and says, ” If my movies are failing to perform well at the box office, it is my responsibility as the lead actor.”

The last successful box office film featuring the superstar Akshay Kumar was the 2021 film ‘Sooryavanshi’, which was a part of Rohit Shetty’s ‘cop universe’. The movie starred Akshay opposite Katrina Kaif and also featuring Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in friendly appearances.

Akshay, has been facing a series of flops and this isn’t happening for the first time, he has experienced such situations twice before as well. He reminds the journalists when he had 16 back to back flops, and one more bad time when he had eight films bombed in a row.
Akshay Kumar recalls, “This is not happening to me for the first time. In my career, I have had 16 consecutive flops at a time. There was a time when I had eight films in a row that did not work. Now, once again there is a bend in my career, my many films in a row did not work. I take the responsibility for the failures.”
He further says, “The audience has changed and now I understand that I too should change, I have learnt a lesson that you need to dismantle yourself. You have to start again because the audience requires you to see something else. During covid lockdowns audiences got busy watching movies from east to west and north to south of the Globe, they got the exposure to the World Cinema, now their expectations have increased.”
Akshay Kumar said, ” From this very day I will be working even harder and will try to give better movies to the filmgoers.”
