PM MODI ASKS BJP LEADERS TO REFRAIN FROM UNNECESSARY REMARKS ON FILMS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17 advised the leaders of the BJP to refrain from making unnecessary statements about films. He passed the diktat during the BJP national executive meeting held on January 16 and 17 in Delhi.
Reportedly, the PM said that “some people give statements on some film” which plays on TV and in media all day.”
Modi’s remark comes amidst calls for a boycott of Pathaan which is scheduled for release on January 25. BJP leaders like Ram Kadam and Narottam Mishra have been vocal in their criticism of the film over the saffron coloured swim suit worn by Deepika Padukone in the Besharam rang song.
It may be recalled that Sunil Shetty had a fortnight back asked Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on his visit to Bombay to meet film people, to take action against the Boycott Bollywood brigade which was
badmouthing every other film at the slightest opportunity.
