Karthi’s starrer ‘Sardar’ was released on Diwali holidays with good reviews in Tamil Nadu. ‘Sardar’ revolves around the water, the basic need of human beings. The film has a water mafia as well. ‘Sardar’ is the spy thriller genre. Kathi played dual roles as father-son and PS Mithran has directed this film. The film is praised with applauds as it has created interest amongst the movie lovers with it’s fresh concept. The film asks genuine questions about the water business. The film roared at the box-office windows.
‘Sardar’ crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the box office worldwide and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year 2022. Karthi’s ‘Viruman’ was released in August and collected Rs 60 crores. Then his multistarrer ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’ was released in September and emerged as a super hit in Kollywood with a whopping Rs 490 Crores gross. Now with ‘Sardar’ joining the 100 crore club, Karthi is very happy as his movies are getting good resp once, till now he is Having a very good year at the box office.
‘Sardar’ was also dubbed in Telugu, it did an average business over there.

A sequel to ‘Sardar’, ‘Sardar 2’ will also go on floor very soon as announced by the makers. The sequel will be made with a new mission.
